I love the Christmas Season! Sometimes I cannot wait and start decorating earlier, before Thanksgiving – at least in the inside. This year, I decorated for Christmas using some vintage items in different ways. I have been collecting some over the years, and you can find them for cents at garage sales, flea markets, estate sales … If you like to give a vintage flavor to your holidays, then you might like to try these ideas. By decorating with vintage items, you are also helping the environment by giving a second chance to items that otherwise would end up in the landfills. Other uses for these items could be as embellishments for a final touch when wrapping gifts. Here are pictures of some ideas; I just did these.
Use vintage ornaments to decorate your tree. Here are two more examples of some vintage ornaments.
You can also visit your garden to find greenery for vases.
Use unusual items to decorate in a different way. In the next pictures, I used vintage Christmas light bulbs to fill some vases and added miniature trees to one of them.

Think outside the box. Use items together in a different way. I took a miniature Christmas hat and an old plastic reindeer and made a wall arrangement. To fill the hat, use tissue paper or fabric in holiday colors. Then, hang on your favorite wall.
Place ornaments in the least expected places.

Spread around little details, such as vintage figurines like angels next to an old candle holder.
Or use other items to add an old charm to a buffet or a corner shelf.

Use previous Christmas cards to make a small vignette where ever you want. Here, I used two cards next to a boxed ornament.
These are just a few ideas for Christmas, but no matter which Holiday you celebrate, you can apply the same principles. Hope you enjoyed these projects.
